One of the most important factors in planning an unforgettable event in Dublin is the venue. It is also top of the list in your pre-event planning! Every client wants their venue to be different, unusual and of course unique! It can be time consuming and at times overwhelming sourcing a new venue that ticks all the boxes.

In my quest to find the latest and best venues in Dublin, I have compiled a list of my top five venues that fit all of the above criteria and suit any type of event….

Blackhall Place, Dublin 7

Presidents Hall Conference

Blackhall Place is situated in the Law Society of Ireland in Dublin 7. Built in the 17th Century and full of character, this beautiful building is surrounded by rambling gardens and sports fields. Blackhall place is renowned for it’s astonishing weddings but that isn’t the only event they cater for. Over the years, Blackhall place has welcomed dignitaries, society belles and corporate guests. They cater for every event from gala dinners to summer bbqs! When I see the high ceilings, beautiful historic features and marvelous stained glass windows, I can’t help but imagine all of the potential wonderful events that would be right at home within these historic walls.

Wood Quay Venue

Facing onto the river liffey in the city centre is Wood Quay Venue. This unique space features the stunning Hiberno Norse Viking City Wall, which dates back to 1100AD! This space’s sleek wood paneled walls add a certain minimalistic but chic vibe to the venue. This minimalistic impression makes it easy for a client to imagine how their event could fit in here and realize the full potential of the space!

The Irish Whiskey Museum, Dame Street

Just across the road from Trinity College the Irish Whiskey Museum is ideally located. Three different venues are housed within the building all with a different style and design. They cater for all events and specialize in corporate events. I love the cosy intimate vibe in this venue. The relaxed and inviting vibes would lend itself wonderfully to a networking evening or a private party.

The interior décor of exposed beams, wooden floors and mahogany paneling combine to make this quirky venue one of my favourites.

Haughton House, Dublin Zoo

Everybody has visited Dublin Zoo but how many people can say they attended a private event there?

The Haughton Building is one of Dublin’s most unique venues. Located right in the heart of Dublin Zoo, this historic building is sure to provide a wow factor for your guests against the backdrop of the sounds of wild animals! The pared back interiors stand out against the beautiful stained glass windows featuring the zoo’s most popular residents. The venue caters for all events and would be my top pick for a unique event space.

9 Bond Street Studios

9 Bond Street Studios is situated in the heart of the city. The studios have a stylish and sophisticated air with soft lighting and lofty spaces.

When you initially look at this space it can be hard to see past photo shoots and a gallery space. But when you delve further into their portfolio your mind broadens with the amount of opportunities this venue has to offer. The studios seem like the perfect home for a variety of edgy events.

Not only do Bond Street Studios offer event spaces, you can also hire professional photography equipment on site. And they have fully fitted dressing rooms complete with mirrors and basins for any pre-event prep for models!

They’re my top picks for unique and unusual venues in Dublin city centre.
