People’s Procession of Light

The People’s Procession of Light was a unique feature of the NYE Dublin festival as it is the only parade in Ireland where members of the public are invited to participate alongside magical floats, stilt walkers, dancers, musicians and a stunning array of fire performers in an incredible light spectacle through the centre of Dublin.

The participative People’s Procession of Light was internationally praised and widely acknowledged to be the Jewel in the Crown of the NYE Dublin festival. As well as being a visually stunning night-time pageant it offered children, families and visitors the opportunity to take part and be involved in the procession rather than sitting on the side lines watching.

There were stunning scenes as nearly 10,000 people holding glowing lights wove their way slowly through Dublin’s streets culminating with The Big Bang fireworks spectacular at College Green.
