The Event Brief

Our client Dropbox approached us to collaborate with them on the company’s 10th birthday celebrations for the EMEA HQ in Dublin. This was a big occasion for them so they wanted an amazing evening filled with entertainment and activities that would be a memorable experience for employees and guests.

Our Response

Not many people know this, but Dropbox’s internal mascot is a panda. And so Pandamonium was born! A black and white themed masquerade celebration with a little bit of mystery, surprise and madness thrown in throughout the evening.


Nikki first came up with the idea for the company’s Christmas party and the client absolutely loved the idea but went with another theme instead. We’re strong believers in our concepts and so Dropbox’s 10th birthday was the perfect event to finally use “Pandamonium”! 


And to top it off Nikki’s “Pandamonium” idea was used in Dropbox offices across the world including London, Paris and even Sydney!

Creativity & Innovations

Inflate & Save the Date!

Dropbox Staff received a deflated balloon as their invitation. The balloons and invite cards were branded with the event logo. To read the invitation details, guests had to inflate the balloon! What better way to build hype around an event than to have 200 balloons bouncing around the office?!


As the event was a masquerade we organised an in-office craft where Dropboxers decorated their own black and white themed masks. The craft had the highest uptake of any of the in-office craft activities done to date!


Guests received a blackberry prosecco welcome drink on arrival. Our ‘panda people’ formally dressed in a tuxedo, cocktail dress and large panda heads were also present to greet the guests when they arrived. This provided a great photo op for the guests as well as a big surprise, they had a lot of fun with it!

Theming & Decor

We couldn’t ask for a more elegant venue than the Banquet Hall of Smock Alley! The Hall was transformed into the chic ‘Black and White Ballroom’ complete with checkerboard dance floor, black and white pod tables and LOADS of unique giant black and white balloons.

White leather furniture seating areas complete with black cushions and candelabras created a ‘modern gothic’ feel while our LED bar and DJ table decorated with the event logo added some extra flair to the room!


To start off, guests were served a range of black and white canapés such as sushi rolls and chicken skewers with poppy seeds. Mains were a variety of dinner bowls including chicken curry, fish & chips, mushroom risotto and mini burgers. The serving elements were also on theme, with food served on black and white trays, slates, napkins and even the mini cutlery!

To complete the delicious menu, cupcakes and clouds (I mean gourmet marshmallows to die for!) were served. We branded the cupcakes with the event logo as a surprise to the clients and they absolutely loved it! To top it all off, the Dropbox office catering team made a chocolate biscuit cake that was so cute we almost couldn’t cut it!


Entertainment included a set from the brilliant DJ Colin Devine who mixed beloved 90’s tunes and modern chart hits that had guests dancing the night away!

A video from the Dropbox founder and CEO Drew was played before we surprised guests with an impromptu performance from our dancing waiters. The high energy performance followed by an encore including the panda heads, a conga line and the dancers showing the guests some moves!

Nikki’s Comments!

Overall I would say Pandamonium was a great success!

It’s an amazing feeling when your ideas finally come to fruition! This event was a dream project as there was so much creative thought process put into every detail and it really showed in the final product!

There was a fantastic attendance and guests made a great effort to dress-up in black and white and don the masquerade masks!
10 years is a fantastic milestone for Dropbox, and we were delighted they chose us to help make their celebration one to remember for years to come!
